In Pakistan, record electricity prices combined with diving solar pv panel and battery costs have triggered a citizen's renewable energy revolution. Simultaneously, the wholesale electricity market is being launched, transmission upgraded, and distribution companies privatised. Think Build Scale (TBS) is poised to seize the opportunities these transformations offer through developing bankable frameworks for utility-scale and retail energy projects.

Environmental resilience

Tapping climate finance for adaptation & mitigation

Pakistan is amongst the countries most severely impacted by climate change, yet has been unable to significantly tap climate finance, particularly for adaptation. TBS is working furiously to help fill this gap by identifying and curating project pipelines, formalizing adaptation initiatives in the agriculture, water and health sectors, and building required climate finance architectures. It focuses on mitigating risks and unlocking capital. TBS also engages with the public sector to help build a "whole of government" response to the climate change challenge.

Pakistan's agriculture sector needs to be better organised, technologically empowered, adapted to climate change, market oriented and served by improved infrastructure. TBS nudges development of progressive agricultural policy, leverages technology, data and AI solutions to reorient the sector. It helps tap private capital to facilitate this restructuring, and enhance yields and food security.

Reskilling to negotiate a transforming economy

Rescuing Pakistan's education sector is the most critical piece of building Pakistan's economy. TBS leverages technology and AI to develop projects to assist the public and private sector to address educational challenges. It is focused on helping develop provincial and federal education and edtech strategies, bringing out of school children back to school, helping build incentivised government school systems, curriculum revitalization, teacher training, nurturing innovation, strengthening skill development and reimagining education to prepare students for the future world. TBS also structures projects to tap private capital to fund educational innitiatives.

At Think Build Scale (TBS), we are excited about the potential for growth in the insurance sector in Pakistan. Encouraging foundational work has been done by forward-thinking government bodies such as the SECP in recent years. Similarly, innovative products have been introduced in the spheres of insurance-tech and agri-insurance by pioneering companies. This provides a fertile environment, momentum and pathways for the wider private sector and academia to step forward, and perform innovative research and development in collaboration with local and international experts. TBS is focused on devising comprehensive solutions to improve insurance education and coverage for all segments of Pakistani society, with a particular focus on agri-insurance and on utilizing insurance as a tool to adapt to climate change.
